Accredited by Cache, this 12 day Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) qualification (https://nasen.org.uk/training-and-cpd/early-years/accredited-early-years-senco-award.html) is a new and highly respected, nationally recognised programme that we are delighted to now offer in Cornwall. The qualification may be awarded at level 3 and is for practitioners working within private, voluntary and independent settings (PVI’s), childminders and school nurseries. All education providers are required to have arrangements in place to identify and support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and to promote equality of opportunity for children in their care. The qualification is designed for those already working in a SENCO role as part of their job role, or those who are interested in doing so. The programme may be eligible for financial support. The online quality childminding in Cornwall network meetings have provided a great opportunity to see each other without the constraints of travelling long distances. Over the past year we have had input from a variety of interesting speakers and attendees from all parts of the county at each meeting.
In the spring term there will be three evening meetings to share up to date information and address any common issues.
Mentors will email you with details of the focus for each meeting. Please tell your mentor in advance if there are any topics you would like to raise. Looking forward to seeing you!
