The new team of curriculum advisors at Cornwall Council are providing a range of curriculum-based seminars aimed at senior and middle leaders that will support professional development and school improvement.
The short online seminars are designed to provide an insight into key areas of curriculum development that can be further supported by the curriculum advisors working directly with your school to provide a bespoke package.
• Each seminar is distinct in itself but forms part of an overall picture of curriculum intent, implementation and impact. • The online seminars will provide information, facilitate access to resources and an opportunity for teachers to share and reflect on their practice. • Pre and post tasks will support the online seminar and help you to develop your practice.
The online seminar will cover: Seminar 6: Assessing impact: Monitoring and evaluating the impact of the curriculum – (Part 2) • To evaluate the pace of pupil progress, pupil outcomes, and pupils’ preparedness for their next steps.

The quality childminding in Cornwall network meetings online this year have been a great opportunity to see each other without the constraints of travelling long distances. We had input from a variety of interesting speakers and attendees from all parts of the county at each meeting.
In the summer term there will be an evening meeting once a month to share up to date information and address any common issues.
We will have more spots from guest speakers and chances to share your own good practice including reminders of some commonly used Makaton signs.
Additional information: Mentors will email you with details of the focus for each meeting. Please tell your mentor in advance if there are any topics you would like to raise. Looking forward to seeing you!

A pre-recorded session giving an introduction to Prevent aimed at objective two of the Prevent strategy - supporting vulnerable people.
This is essential training for all early years practitioners, particularly new staff and bank staff, as part of the induction process.
Knowledge of the Prevent duty is both a statutory requirement of the EYFS 2021 (section 3.7) and the Ofsted EY Inspection Handbook 2021. This training session has been developed to raise awareness and explain Prevent within the wider safeguarding context of the early years. It provides case studies and offers guidance on how to respond when concerns are raised.
