“Children will have had very unequal experiences at home.” (Amanda Spielman, HMCI commentary: Our plans for the Autumn)
Following our period in lockdown, children are returning to our early years settings with a vast range of communication and language experiences. This two part course will focus on high quality interactions, what they look like and how we can use interaction in our everyday teaching in order to improve outcomes for all children.
The course aims to explore:
- how we can improve the confidence of practitioners in identifying language at risk of delay; - what we can do right now to get interactions going; - how we can help parents to be better equipped to support their children’s language skills at home.
Materials and video links may be sent out for delegates to view before the sessions.
