Aimed at: Senior and middle leaders in primary, secondary and post 16 settings (settings are encouraged to send delegates appropriate to their individual needs).
The new team of curriculum advisors at Cornwall Council are providing a range of curriculum-based seminars aimed at senior and middle leaders that will support professional development and school improvement.
The short online seminars are designed to provide an insight into key areas of curriculum development that can be further supported by the curriculum advisors working directly with your school to provide a bespoke package.
• Each seminar is distinct in itself but forms part of an overall picture of curriculum intent, implementation and impact. • The online seminars will provide information, facilitate access to resources and an opportunity for teachers to share and reflect on their practice. • Pre and post tasks will support the online seminar and help you to develop your practice.
The online seminar will cover: Seminar 1: ‘We’re all in it together’: Creating a shared culture for implementation
• Develop a collaborative culture of professional development. • Identify systems for implementation to support quality first teaching and curriculum. • How to factor in time for reflection and development.
Course Objectives
The course aims to: • Support middle and senior leaders in reviewing and developing their curriculum using the Education Inspection Framework. • Draw on recent and relevant research to inform evidence-based practice. • Facilitate the sharing of practice and direction to practical resources.
Seminar structure: The seminars will be delivered online through Microsoft Teams. Each seminar is 1 hour and 15 minutes in length. Each seminar will be repeated twice in an early morning slot 7.15 – 8.30 am and a twilight slot 4.45-6.00pm so that participants can chose which one suits their working day.
