This course takes an introductory look at harnessing children’s natural love of books to improve language development. It will offer some practical, easily implemented ideas to support children’s expressive language, particularly vocabulary development and early comprehension skills, to pave the way for early literacy.
Course Objectives
The course aims to:
- look at early vocabulary development; - offer practical strategies using stories to: - target children at risk of delay and narrow the word gap; - extend language skills for more able talk.
