This workshop is open to teachers, SENCOs or support staff who wish to learn more about supporting students with DCD in their classroom. This will be done by covering theoretical content to enhance teacher knowledge and understanding of DCD and providing effective and practical strategies to support students where motor coordination barriers impact on learning and access to the curriculum.
This course aims to ensure that delegates:
• Are able to identify signs and symptoms of DCD in school • Know the processes for making a referral ie “DCD Pathway” • Develop a range of practical supportive strategies and adjustments to support students, including using IT to support recording skills • Are aware of the Equality Act 2010 and a school’s duty to provide reasonable adjustments
