Aimed at designated and deputy designated safeguarding leads in all educational settings (schools, academies and colleges).
This training is a refresher course for those who have already attended level 3 multi agency training as recommended by the Safeguarding Children Partnership. It will look specifically at safeguarding from an education perspective with a focus on Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) September 2021 and will also include relevant national and local updates.
The course can be used as an annual update for designated and deputy designated safeguarding leads as outlined in KCSIE September 2021 (Page 93).

Course Objectives
The course aims to:
- consolidate and develop knowledge linked to safeguarding and the DSL role from a national and local perspective; - consider the changes to KCSIE 2021 and some of the challenges faced by schools from a safeguarding perspective; - provide an overview of Ofsted requirements in relation to safeguarding.
