Course Description
Aimed at EYFS practitioners working with children in the private, voluntary, independent and maintained sectors. Family workers and health professionals.
This two hour session will look at signs from Makaton Core Vocabulary and functional vocabulary for early years.
Participants will be emailed signs delivered after the training.
Led by a Makaton Regional Tutor
Course Objectives
The course aims to:
- provide functional vocabulary to support children’s communication; - raise awareness of ways in which we communicate; - support practitioners in their accuracy and delivery of Makaton signs; - use Makaton signs in sentences, practice signing conversations, support recall and recognition of vocabulary.
