Committee Members / Early Years Practitioners / Managers / SENCO
Aimed at SENDCo’s in the private, voluntary and independent early years sector, schools and academies, working with children up to the end of reception. Also for ‘new’ SENDCo’s who have already attended effective (SEN) practice training (EYFS30) or previously completed the role of the EY SENCO training (part 1 and 2).
This course builds on the learning from the effective SEN practice training for new to role SENDCo’s and extends the skills of the experienced SENDCo using the graduated response. The focus will be on keeping the child at the centre of decision making and working with parents and professionals. It will include information on relevant paperwork and processes.
The course aims to:
- raise awareness of SEND legislation; - further consider the role of the SENDCo and manager within the setting including safeguarding; - increase confidence in completing SEND paperwork; - consider how and when to involve professionals.
Please bring a copy of the SEND code of practice and SEND toolkit to the training (or bring a device to access them online).
Please note that for cancellations received less than 7 days before the start of the course the full course fee will be charged.
