A practical training course to introduce delegates to Hearing Impairment, barriers to learning that this may cause and strategies to help overcome them.
By the end of the course delegates will • Understand how hearing impairment affects learners • Have a basic audiological understanding of different types of hearing loss and understand the educational implications • Recognise signs of a possible hearing loss and how to refer • Have knowledge of a range of classroom strategies including: curriculum access, management of background noise and everyday management of hearing aids • Be aware of responsibilities under The Equality Act
