Making use of equipment and basic instruments along with the innate musicality that is present already in your setting, you will experience how Rainbow Pond Music can support and be supported by the Prime and Specific areas. Sharing not only games, session plans and continuous provision ideas, you will reflect on your own practice by being introduced to a series of case studies where Rainbow Pond Music has been supporting identified areas of need in a variety of settings across Cornwall. Data gathered and observation examples will be shared to illustrate how Rainbow Pond Music can support the practitioner who understands the importance of musical benefits of learning but feels a barrier to facilitating it. The course aims to:
- support the ‘underconfident in music’ practitioner with take away resources and ideas; - facilitate meaningful music making in context with early years good practice; - enable musical play to embed within the prime and specific areas, through tried and tested approaches and enabled environments; - focus in particular on mathematics and speech and language; - provide an opportunity to apply for a funded research project unique to your setting.
