Single agency training should be undertaken by all workers who are in regular contact, or have a period of intense but irregular contact, with children and young people. Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Safeguarding Children Partnership (CIoSSCP) requires that this training should be refreshed every three years. The course aims to support all staff working with children, in understanding key principles of child protection and what these mean in terms of the responsibilities of their role in an early years setting.
The course will cover:
- Attitudes and values - Definition and categories of abuse - Signs, symptoms and impact of abuse - Dealing with a disclosure - Managing allegations against staff - E-safety - An awareness and understanding of the national Child Sexual Exploitation agenda
