Childminders / Early Years Practitioners / Foster Carers
This course will focus upon improving provision for babies under 18 months old at day nurseries, childminders and foster carers. The course will promote the building of positive partnerships with parents and carers and focus upon how to create successful key person approaches in order to promote early learning. We will share recent research about babies’ brain development and consider the implications for our daily practice. The enabling environment will be reviewed and discussed in order to reflect upon and improve provision in the indoor and outdoor environment to meet the needs of the youngest children.
The course aims to:
- support practitioners to maximise the learning potential of daily routines such as nappy changing and meal times; - increase practitioners’ knowledge of the development of a baby’s brain; - enhance partnerships with parents and carers to promote emotional wellbeing and early learning; - offer ideas about how to provide nurturing and stimulating environments for babies in the setting and in the home learning environment.
Please bring copies of learning journeys to the training.
Please note that for cancellations received less than 7 days before the start of the course the full course fee will be charged.
