Course Description
Early years settings provide the ideal opportunity for children to learn how to enjoy food, and establish healthy eating habits. This course will help you to understand the nutritional needs of children and is recommended for all settings including those who provide meals, snacks or drinks to babies and children up to five years.
Course Objectives
The course aims to:
- set out and explain food and drink guidelines for early years settings; - help you to meet the nutritional requirements of young children in your care; - help you to make better food choices when planning your menus; - recognise the importance of promoting positive attitudes to good nutrition; - access further support in order to improve the quality of food and drink provision in your early years setting; - look at guidance and materials to assist settings in promoting, implementing and complying with the EU Food Information for Consumers Regulations.
