Course Description Accredited by Cache, this 12 day Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) qualification (https://nasen.org.uk/training-and-cpd/early-years/accredited-early-years-senco-award.html) is a new and highly respected, nationally recognised programme that we are delighted to now offer in Cornwall. The qualification may be awarded at level 3 and is for practitioners working within private, voluntary and independent settings (PVI’s), childminders and school nurseries. All education providers are required to have arrangements in place to identify and support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and to promote equality of opportunity for children in their care. The qualification is designed for those already working in a SENCO role as part of their job role, or those who are interested in doing so. The programme may be eligible for financial support. Course Objectives The course aims to:

- explore the role and responsibilities of the Special Educational Needs Coordinator;
- understand the strategies and techniques for supporting children and their families;
- Increase knowledge of SEND codes of practice.

Additional information:

You will need a laptop and note taking equipment. Folders of PowerPoint presentations, assessment materials and other resources will be provided.

You will need to attend all sessions.
