| | Coastal and Countryside Walking Leader with Camping Endorsement Assessment (Cancelled) | |
| | Starts: | Thursday 22 July 2021 13:00 (day 1) - 12:00 noon (day 2) | Code: CLO11 | | | | Venue: | Delaware Outdoor Education Centre, Drakewalls, Gunnislake, PL18 9EH | Map | | | | | About this course | This is the foundation level of the SWMMLTS and is designed to test an introductory level of knowledge, understanding and experience sufficient to lead groups safely and enjoyably in 'summer conditions' in coastal and rural countryside environments.
Successful completion of assessment enables approval to be given by operating authorities for the leadership of day walks in summer in coastal or rural countryside locations.
'Summer conditions' are typically seen as fair weather days during the year, but it should be noted that even during summer conditions, a combination of cold winds, rain and low temperatures which have not been forecast, can be a hazard, for which the leader and party should be suitably prepared and equipped.
The course will include an overnight camp with tents to cover the assessment of the Coastal and Countryside Camping Endorsement.
NB Participants will be required to pay an additional one-off SWMMLTS registration fee of £30 if they have not already done so. Any future SWMMLTS courses applied for will not incur this charge. | | | | | View details | | |
