The purpose of this qualification is for the learner to attain knowledge and practical competencies required to deal with a range of Emergency Paediatric First Aid situations.
Those attending will receive a EFAW Paediatric book to assist and guide them through their course and upon completion will receive a certificate, a wallet size plastic card and a pdf of their qualification.
Course Content: Aims of first aid, contents of first aid kit, accident reporting procedures, Scene Assessment, Recovery position, CPR (Ventilation & Compression), use of pocket-masks and face-shields, hands-only and over-the-head CPR, defibrillator awareness, choking, wounds and bleeding, burns and scalds, shock and seizure and use of adrenaline injector pens.

We will look at personalising the vocabulary and software, amending pronunciations, adding in images or symbols as well as looking at new features in the latest update.
Participants will take away handouts that will support them moving forward when programming the app for young people and will be signposted to further video content in personalising the app. Please note there are several available offerings for this training.

Also for ‘new’ SENDCo’s who have already attended effective (SEN) practice training (EYFS30) or previously completed the role of the EY SENCO training (part 1 and 2).
This course builds on the learning from the effective SEN practice training for new to role SENDCo’s and extends the skills of the experienced SENDCo using the graduated response. The focus will be on keeping the child at the centre of decision making and working with parents and professionals. It will include information on relevant paperwork and processes.
