It is only with a good knowledge of the school that governors can undertake their second key role of governance ‘Holding the senior leader to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils’. No charge for local authority maintained schools or academies that have purchased the School Effectiveness Cornwall (SEC) SLA. Zoom sessions - £60 for three sessions for those who have not purchased the SEC SLA. Please note that for cancellations received less than 7 days before the start of the course a cancellation fee of £25.00 will be charged. | Course closed to new requests | Full Details | Print Course | Starts: Tuesday 7 June 2022 09.30-12.00 Basic Safeguarding Children Training (previously known as level 2) Venue: Online It is a requirement that all those working with children undertake at least basic level safeguarding training and that this is updated on a regular basis. For education staff it is a statutory requirement. This training must be completed before accessing multi agency training through the Safeguarding Children Partnership. This is interactive training which will provide those attending with key information to ensure they are clear about their duties and responsibility to safeguard children. The content will include: - Dealing with a disclosure - Signs and indicators - What is safeguarding? Roles and responsibilities, legislation, relevant mandatory guidance - Personal and professional thresholds - Keeping yourself safe - Managing allegations against staff including whistle blowing - Key safeguarding issues (child sexual exploitation, female genital mutilation, radicalisation) - Information sharing, record keeping and confidentiality - Making a referral | Course closed to new requests | Full Details | Print Course |
