|  |  |  | | Course closed to new requests | Full Details | Print Course | |  |  |  | | Starts: Wednesday 18 May 2022 1230-1545 |  | Induction for new Governors (part one) – An Introduction to Governance - Summer | Venue: Online |  | Governor induction part one provides newly appointed governors with a broad introduction to the roles and responsibilities of governance. The course also explores the governance setting in Cornwall, who’s who, where to access support and, most importantly, will cover the three core responsibilities of governance. • Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction • Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff • Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
Cost: No charge for local authority maintained schools or academies that have purchased the School Effectiveness Cornwall (SEC) SLA. Face to face session - £75.00 for those who have not purchased the SEC SLA. Zoom sessions - £60 for three sessions for those who have not purchased the SEC SLA. Please note that for cancellations received less than 7 days before the start of the course a cancellation fee of £25.00 will be charged.

This course will provide a general overview of effective practice in meeting the needs of children in the early years with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). It will cover current requirements with regards to legislation and the graduated response. This training is recommended for ALL EYFS practitioners particularly those working with children with SEND.
