Basic Safeguarding Children Training (previously known as level 2)Venue: Online
It is a requirement that all those working with children undertake at least basic level safeguarding training and that this is updated on a regular basis. For education staff it is a statutory requirement. This training must be completed before accessing multi agency training through the Safeguarding Children Partnership. This is interactive training which will provide those attending with key information to ensure they are clear about their duties and responsibility to safeguard children. The content will include:

- Dealing with a disclosure
- Signs and indicators
- What is safeguarding? Roles and responsibilities, legislation, relevant mandatory guidance
- Personal and professional thresholds
- Keeping yourself safe
- Managing allegations against staff including whistle blowing
- Key safeguarding issues (child sexual exploitation, female genital mutilation, radicalisation)
- Information sharing, record keeping and confidentiality
- Making a referral

Becoming attuned to two year oldsVenue: Online
Aimed at EYFS practitioners working in nurseries, pre-schools and schools in the private, voluntary, independent and maintained sectors, childminders.

During this training we will focus on two year olds and their unique stage of development.

As a basis for supporting their whole development we will discuss the importance of:

- sensitive, responsive caregiving;
- attuned, reciprocal interactions;
- positive, secure attachments.

The course will also signpost practitioners to resources, research articles and information to further support professional development.

Makaton trainingVenue: Online
Aimed at EYFS practitioners working with children in the private, voluntary, independent and maintained sectors. Family workers and health professionals.

This two hour session will look at signs from Makaton Core Vocabulary and functional vocabulary for early years.

Participants will be emailed signs delivered after the training.
